The Birth of a Borough First came the condominium in 1973, and a few years later in 1976, the residents decided, in the words of their Declaration of Secession, "that we can govern our affairs more effectively and equitable than a distant and disinterested authority". A year later, the residents bid farewell to Robinson Township, following a court ruling, and the Borough of Pennsbury Village became the 130th municipality in Allegheny County. The first Council of elected officials and a Mayor were elected, and took office in January, 1977. Today, Pennsbury Village and its unique condominium municipality continue to flourish and maintain its very special lifestyle.
